Colour Pop Ultra Matte vs NYX Lip Lingerie

If you read my blog you know that I like NYX lip lingerie, I recently tried Colour Pop Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks, here is a quick comparison of both products.

Both comes in a sleek pretty packing with a soft useful applicator.

Both are highly pigmented, provide full coverage and one swipe is enough to show intense colour. Both are matte liquid lipsticks, Colour Pop formula is drier than NYX.

Both applied easily with out any issue, dries in few seconds and they are nontransferable.

Here is the main point where I love NYX than Colour Pop. NYX last long time on my lips with out being patchy or flaky. Colour Pop formula is so drying and it starts flaking after half an hour.  Even I need to remove it properly to get rid of patchy flaky lips. I am so sad, I heard lots of good things about their matte lipstick but it does not work for me. May be I have dry lips that's why it is not for me.

Value for money
Colour Pop is only available online, it cost 6$ USD which is equal to around 8$AUD, it is cheaper but after adding shipping cost it is expensive. NYX cost 15$ and it is available in Priceline and Target store, I got mine for 9$ during 40% off sale.

Final Verdict: NYX lip lingerie is the winner, The formula is great and last long on my lips. During 40% off sale, it became more affordable. The only problem is limited shade selection but still I think it is a best drugstore liquid lipstick in Australia.

Have you tried any of these, Love to hear your thoughts.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Concealer Review*

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation Price: 29$from selected Priceline stores and pharmacies
Bourjois Healthy Concealer Price: 20$ from selected Priceline stores and pharmacies

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in N2 Vanilla and Concealer in Medium

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
It is a cult favourite product, recently it is reformulated. I am lucky to receive this for trial.  It comes in strong glass bottle with red pump which is very easy to use. I got the shade N2 Vanilla which is closest to my skin tone.   It has sweet smell which disappears after application. This is a liquid foundation, it is light weight and highly pigmented, I only need small amount to cover my entire face and neck.

My skin is currently dry and I apply this foundation after using moisturiser.   Surprisingly it applies easily and blends effortlessly into my skin. For me, It provides light to medium coverage which is buildable, it covers light brown spot, blue veins and uneven skin tone. For better coverage I used concealer with it. This is non transferable foundation and it does not stain my clothes or mobile phone.

I found that this foundation is great for dry skin and keep my skin hydrated for hours.  It gives me natural fresh face with luminous finish. It last up to 7 hours on my skin and starts to fade after 6 hours.

I love this foundation, it works great with my dry skin. I hope it will work for normal, combination and mature skin too. For oily skin beauties, I think touch ups with powder can make it last longer.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer
It comes in a tube packing with doe foot applicator. I got the shade medium which is perfect for my skin tone. It has fresh sweet smell which disappears after application. It is creamy and highly pigmented, I only need a small amount.

The creamy formula apply and blend easily without  any effort.  This concealer give light to medium coverage which is buildable. I found that  this concealer is great for under eyes , but does not completely cover acne and blemishes. But it is lightweight and if you have acne problem, your skin can still breath under it.

Overall, I like this concealer, it is creamy and hydrating so perfect for normal, combination and dry skin beauties.

Have you tried this foundation and concealer, love to hear your thoughts.

Beautylish Haul

Last month I placed order with Beautylish and  I am pleasantly surprised with their service. I received my order within 10 days and it was securely packed.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette: I think this is the most photographed palette ever. I remember that few years back Urban Decay naked was everywhere in beauty community but this one beats Naked. Actually  it was my birthday present, unfortunately I can not buy it in Canberra. The only option is online purchase but it is always out of stock at Sephora and even on beautylish. So when I receive the email about its availability, I quickly ordered it.

It Cosmetics CC Cream: I just include this to get free shipping, it is 12 ml sample size and cost me 15 USD.

ABH Palette is really beautiful and it cost me 55$ AUD while its is sold for 75$AUD in Astralia. I am really enjoying this palette, detailed review will be coming soon.

My experience with Beautylish is excellent,  it is a very useful website  for those who do not live in a big city and can not access these brands. Their prices are reasonable too and they offer free shipping over 50$.

Have you tried any of these, love to hear your thoughts, have a lovely weekend :)

Note: The mentioned prices are based on conversion rate of USD into AUD at the time of purchase.

Baby Shower Ideas: Do’s and Don’ts

The news of a new baby arriving soon presents excitement and happiness. Whether you are a first time mom or have had kids before, the feeling is always the same. Planning a baby shower should therefore be perfect.

Here are some baby shower ideas that will certainly help you.

Whether you decide to go for traditional theme or modern one, it should be unique. For a baby boy most of the time the theme color is blue while for girls it’s pink. But there are way much more themes to choose from such as jungle theme, animal theme, musical theme or even a nautical theme.

If you are not sure of the baby’s gender, go for a neutral theme like a vintage or black and white theme. It may sound boring but it’s very sophisticated.

If you are planning for a friend, find out what the mom to be doesn’t like to eat and don’t include any food that will upset her. The last thing you do not want is the main guest of the party getting sick during the event.

Remember that the cake should be the center of the shower. Make sure the decoration is as amazing as the taste of the cake.

Here are two easy to make recipes that could help you and save up some of your time.

1. Cheese ball
Softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, almonds, worcestershire sauce, and cheddar cheese.

  • Mix mayonnaise and cream cheese, stir until smooth.
  • Add Parmesan and cheddar cheese, green, onion, garlic powder and worcestershire sauce into the mixture and stir.
  • Chop almonds and place into a plastic wrap. Roll the cheese mixture into balls.
  • Roll cheese balls in almonds then wrap with plastic wrap.
  • Place into refrigerator for  few minutes then unwrap and serve.
2. Banana bread
Ripe bananas, milk, plain yogurt, vanilla cream, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cinnamon, butter.

  • Mash bananas and add in milk, yogurt and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  • Cut the butter into very tiny pieces and add into the flour mixture.
  • Add the banana mixture into the new flour mixture and mix well to make dough.
  • Preheat oven.
  • Line baking sheet with parchment paper and place the scones.
  • Bake until firm and brown on the edges.
  • Let it cool then serve.

There’s no limitation to what you can give someone as a gift but you should try to be creative. You can buy things like, on-the go changing mat, multi-portion freezer tray, self-heating travel bottle or stroller storage.  Giving the gift of  newborn photography props is also a fantastic ideas, they will be used on the newborn to forever capture special and wonderful life events with great photos. They are available in many online stores and can even have them custom made. Gift must all be about the baby.

All of them are creamy and highly pigmented, even one swipe is enough to show intense colour. Unlike other drugstore palette, the mattes perform really very well even I need to be careful with them. All the colours apply and blend easily, only blush has little fall out while others are perfectly fine. I like the colour selection of this palette. it is great for all skin tones.

Surprising eye shadows and blush last for a very long time, they perfectly stays  more than 8 hours on my face.  All the eye shadows work well with my pale skin tone, only "In the buff" looks little bit chalky.  I love the blush "On point"  and Highlighter "In the glow" while in the eye shadows "Man Crush" and "Girls gain" are my favourite.
